Objectives
By the end of the module you will be computer literate. You will know how to log in to the University network, use email and the WWW and use some widely distributed tools including a word processor. You will learn how to use the R and Maple packages to solve mathematical problems. This will equip you to take subsequent modules in Mathematics into which the use of Maple is integrated.
Syllabus
1. Logging on the University system.
2. Use of email.
3. Use of the WWW.
4. Word processing using MS-word.
5. Stats package R.
6. Maple as a tool for doing numerical calculations.
7. Maple as a tool for doing algebraic manipulations.
8. Applications of Maple to Calculus.
